On June 18th, 40 soccer teams from freight forwarding and logistics companies fought for the European football crown of the CargoLine Cup. In the final, John forwarding defeated Leopold Schäfer GmbH 5:0.
On June 18 around 1,300 shippers and employees of logistics companies from all over Europe arrived in Flieden near Fulda, to cheer for their teams and play soccer. Host of the seventh edition of this special football tournament this time was the forwarding agency John from Eichenzell, a long standing customer of TIS. TIS supported the tournament as a sponsor – and, of course, is especially pleased about the victory of the John Spedition team.
Ranking on the second and third place are the Leopold Schäfer GmbH (Neunkirchen in Siegerland) and the Militzer & Münch GmbH (Eichenzell). A special highlight and motivation for all logistics kicker was certainly the original football World Champion Truck 2014, in which players and fans were offered the chance to be photographed during the day and even feel like a champion themselves.
In addition to the sport, especially team spirit, fairness and mutual understanding and cooperation of the international colleagues inspired the event in Flieden, which was extensively celebrated with a great evening program. 2018 Leopold Schäfer GmbH from Siegerland will host the tournament.
Spedition John
John forwarding operates the central hub or European hub of CargoLine. The company uses the vehicle solution of TIS for the delivery and documentation of damages in its own depot and the central hub. With a handling area of 10,000 square meters Spedition John uses a total of 70 partners in Europe, including 45 partners nationwide.
