Fines for mobile phone use while driving


In the EU, fines of different value are imposed when drivers use their mobile phone while driving. Guest writer chief inspector Christoph Becker has summarized the fines of particularly busy EU countries.

The following fines will be charged by the individual EU Member States for the use of a mobile phone while driving:

Greece 100 Euros
Denmark 200 Euros
Netherlands 230 Euros
France begins at 135 Euros
Spain at 200 Euros
