With the acquisition of Naurtech in September 2014 by LANDesk now only one major provider for Terminal Emulations is on the market. Interesting for our customers: As a Wavelink Platinum partner we are are optimistic to be able to also offer Naurtech terminal emulations in the foreseeable future. Wavelink is part of LANDesk already since 2012.
With the acquisition of Naurtech, LANDesk plan to complement their product range with an SAP-enabled solution for robust mobility products. Naurtech is a supplier of connectivity solutions for mobile access to corporate data and applications on Windows CE-based devices. The current product range under LANDesk will continue to carry the name of the Naurtech brand.
For us as a Wavelink Platinum partner this news is very interesting. As Wavelink was bought in 2012 by LANDesk. TIS has been a Wavelink Platinum partner for many years. Therefore, we are confident that we can offer the Naurtech terminal emulation in the foreseeable future – in addition to other software products of the two providers, such as enterprise-class browsers, device management solutions and mobile clients.
Shipping calculation goes mobile with terminal emulation
Already today, our MDTs (mobile data terminals) with the add-on module Wavelink Telnet CE are transformed into a mini-terminal of the forwarding computer. As a user, you can then scan data in the warehouse and share them in real time with the host system. Thus, all information up to date. Especially when it comes to time-critical processes, such as scanning during loading and unloading in short-distance transport, this is an advantage.
